Who we are

BuildGrade Ltd ("BuildGrade", "we") operates buildgrade.co.uk and the BuildGrade platform. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: info@buildgrade.co.uk.

This website

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) for security and capacity purposes and retains them for a limited period under its own policy.

If you email us to request early access, we keep your name, organisation and email address to reply to you and to tell you about the platform. We do not sell or share this information. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

The platform and public-record data

BuildGrade assembles information about buildings from published public sources, including the Greater London Authority, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government energy certificate register, HM Land Registry, Historic England, the Office for National Statistics, the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and OpenStreetMap, each under its published licence.

Some of that information can relate to identifiable people, for example a registered proprietor named on a Land Registry title or an address on an energy certificate. We process it on the basis of legitimate interests: helping organisations target and evidence building retrofit. We show it only to authenticated platform users, only as published by the source, with the source and date named, and we do not use it for marketing to the individuals concerned. We do not add personal data from private sources.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our processing, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Where the data comes from a public register, we will point you to the source so a correction is made at the record itself.

We will update this page when our practices change and show the date at the top.
